Jackass 4.5 is now available to stream on Netflix. The film contains unreleased footage and outtakes from Jackass Forever, which grossed over 80 million when it was released in theaters earlier this year. Originally a 30-minute show on MTV, the Jackass franchise was created by MoCo natives Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze, along with actor Johnny Knoxville. Tremaine and Jonze were childhood friends, both growing up in MoCo and graduating from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda in the mid 80s and are both executive producers of all the Jackass movies.

Tremaine is the former editor of the skating culture magazine Big Brother and a former art director of the influential BMXmagazine GO. He was also a former professional BMX rider. Tremaine has directed and produced all the movies in the Jackass franchise and was also the executive producer on the MTV reality series Rob and Big, and the executive producer of Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness, Nitro Circus, and Adult Swim’s Loiter Squad.

His route took him along Clopper Road in Germantown last week and he noticed the Lottery sign in the window of Cicilia Beer & Wine. “I bought a Mega Millions ticket and this free Pick 5 ticket came with it,” he told Lottery officials. “I wasn’t expecting that!” That surprise ticket is part of a Try Pick 5 promotion celebrating the Lottery’s newest draw game. Free quick-pick straight bet Pick 5 tickets accompany random Maryland Lottery draw game purchases through June 5.

“I had a handful of tickets to check, so I went to a store near home to scan them,” he said. The Germantown resident held nothing back when he saw what he’d won. “I let out a shout. The other customers came over, the store staff came over, we all celebrated together.” The lucky truck driver shared with us that a recent family funeral has left relatives in financial distress. He plans to use his winnings to ease their troubles.

Town of Kensington Election to Take Place on June 6; Candidate Forum on May 23

The Town of Kensington election will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, at the Kensington Town Hall (3710 Mitchell Street). The term of Mayor Tracey Furman and Council Members Bridget Hill-Zayat and Nate Engle are set to expire June 30, 2022. Absentee Ballots will be made available to any registered voter that is unable to vote in person by completing the Absentee Ballot application, and returning it to Susan Engels, Clerk-Treasurer, at the following email: [email protected]. An Absentee Ballot application will be mailed to every registered voter within the Town. If you have not received the Absentee Ballot application, please contact Susan Engels at the above email.

This award comes as a result of great coaching, a great staff and great family support. I am humbled and thankful.” he tweeted on Thursday, May 19th. Mr. James Allrich was selected as the recipient of the 2022 Dr. Edward Shirley Award for Excellence in Educational Administration and Supervision earlier this year. He has been principal at Argyle Middle School in Silver Spring since 2015.

Kid Museum Grand Opening in New Location on Sunday, May 22

KID Museum will open in its new flagship site at Bethesda Metro Center — a brand new, 28,000 square foot facility “created to foster the “Mind of a Maker” and empower the next generation with the skills to invent the future.” The grand opening event will take place on May 22, 2022 at 3 Bethesda Metro Center, Suite 140.

The state-of-the-art makerspace is purpose-built for kids ages 4-14 to explore coding, robotics, engineering design, and hands-on maker learning, with the capacity to welcome more than 100,000 visitors every year. Montgomery County is Providing 40,000 Chromebooks to Residents Who Do Not Have Computers

Montgomery County is providing 40,000 Chromebook computers to residents who do not have a computer. Eventbrite is being used to create appointment tickets to manage computer pick-ups. Every person receiving a computer:

There is a limit of one computer per person. You do not need to be a U.S. Citizen to receive a computer but you must be a Montgomery County resident. EVERY PERSON, INCLUDING CHILDREN, MUST HAVE THEIR OWN APPOINTMENT AND APPEAR ON THEIR APPOINTMENT DAY IN PERSON WITH ID TO RECEIVE A COMPUTER (For Example: If a parent wants a computer for the parent and two computers for two children, the parent must make 3 appointments and bring the two children with ID to receive the computers. If you make an appointment for June 21, you cannot show up on a different day.)

Montgomery Planning Briefs Planning Board on Neighborhood Change Analysis

Most pressing challenge in Montgomery County is poverty concentration and not displacement

WHEATON, MD – The Montgomery County Planning Department, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) presented an analysis of neighborhood change to the Montgomery County Planning Board at their meeting on Thursday, May 19. Montgomery Planning staff briefed Planning Board members on the research project which looks at changes in the economic and racial composition of Census tracts across the region with a focus on Montgomery County. The two most notable findings are 1) the neighborhood change trend in most urgent need of addressing in Montgomery County is poverty concentration – and not displacement, and 2) new housing construction is associated with diverse, inclusive neighborhood economic growth. The work is based on the methodology developed by the University of Minnesota and has been updated and advanced by Montgomery Planning’s Research and Strategic Projects Division.

WHEATON, MD – The Montgomery County Planning Department, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, will hold a community open house for the Wheaton Downtown Study on June 14, 2022 (4 – 7:00 p.m.) at M-NCPPC’s Wheaton Headquarters Auditorium (2425 Reedie Drive, Floor 2, Wheaton, MD 20902). At the open house, Montgomery Planning staff will provide an overview of the purpose of the study, discuss strengths, opportunities and challenges within the Wheaton Central Business District, and present initial strategies to further the implementation of the 2012 Wheaton CBD and Vicinity Sector Plan.
