MCPS Hosting Job Fair for Maintenance and Operations on April 21

Per MCPS: MCPS is looking for highly qualified and highly skilled people to join its workforce as support professionals. The next in-person job fair will be for maintenance and operations from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, April 21, at the Division of Maintenance and Operations, 8301 Turkey Thicket Drive, Building A, First Floor in Gaithersburg.

To have the possibility to interview for the maintenance positions, visit the MCPS Careers website and apply to one of the Talent Pools for Hiring Fair Only. Talent pools are open for the following positions: electrician, cafeteria worker, HVAC, plumber, carpenter and building service worker. To apply for one of the talent pools, follow these instructions:

  • Visit MCPS Careers.
  • Halfway down the page, under Find a Job, click on All Jobs.
  • In the Keywords box, write Talent Pool and click Search for Jobs.
  • Select the talent pool and you’re interested in and click Apply. If you do not have an MCPS Careers account, you will be prompted to create one.

To become pre-qualified for open and future positions, a hands-on skills assessment will be given to those who qualify if time permits. Supervisors will be on hand to discuss the various job positions and how they support MCPS. Interviews will also be held for bus operators and bus attendants; auto service workers/apprentices and automotive technicians; and cafeteria worker/managers, warehouse workers and truck drivers in the Division of Food and Nutrition Services. Candidates for the following critical positions are invited to walk in:

  • HVAC mechanics
  • Carpentry shop (carpenters, painters, floor mechanics, roof workers, locksmiths)
  • Plumbers
  • Electricians
  • Building service workers
  • Bus operators
  • Bus attendants
  • Auto service workers/auto apprentices and automotive technicians
  • Cafeteria workers/managers
  • Warehouse workers
  • Warehouse truck drivers
  • Other maintenance positions
