One of Two Suspects Arrested Following Attempted Burglary of Check Cash Depot

Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department announced the arrest of Oscar Vasquez Fuentes, 21, of no fixed address, for attempted commercial burglary that occurred early Tuesday morning.

According to police, “on March 19 at approximately 1:34 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 1000 block of University Blvd (Check Cash Depot) for the report of an attempted burglary in progress by two suspects. Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspects who immediately attempted to flee the scene on foot. Despite their efforts, one of the suspects was successfully apprehended by officers in the 8100 block of Hammond Avenue. Efforts to locate the second suspect were initiated, including a K9 track. Unfortunately, these efforts yielded negative results.

Fuentes was arrested, charged accordingly, and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.”
