On May 10, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., the Rockville City Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the 300 block of N. Washington Street. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male, 78, suffering from a single stab wound to his upper torso.
Per Rockville Police: The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where he remains in good condition. The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred outside a local business; however, the motive for the assault remains under investigation.
The suspect, who is described as an African American male with a thin build wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and a black mask, fled the area on foot. Detectives from the Rockville City Police Department are canvassing local businesses for additional witnesses and surveillance footage.
