Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred Wednesday morning in the area of Norwood Road and Nesbitt Farm Lane in Sandy Spring.
According to police, “Shortly before 8 a.m., Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District officers and Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to the location for the report of a serious collision.
The investigation has revealed that a vehicle collided with a wooden light pole. A 17-year-old female sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two 17-year-old occupants, a male and a female, have been transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The MCPD – Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and is investigating this collision. There is an extended road closure at the intersection Norwood Road and Nesbitt Farm Lane.”
