Construction is now officially underway for The Amazing Art Studio’s second Montgomery County location at White Oak Town Center, marking a major step forward after the expansion was first reported by The MoCoShow last year.
The locally owned studio shared that crews have begun work inside the new space, with an anticipated opening timeline of mid-May if construction continues as planned. The update comes months after the business confirmed it had signed a lease and completed early planning and design work for the East County location.
The new White Oak studio will mirror the hands-on creative experiences that have made the Downtown Crown location a go-to destination for families, date nights, and group outings. Guests can expect pottery painting, mosaics, fused glass, and other interactive art projects, along with birthday parties, events, and group gatherings. The Gaithersburg location will remain open.
The Amazing Art Studio has built a strong following over more than two decades in Montgomery County. The woman-owned, family and veteran-operated business is widely known as the largest do-it-yourself art studio in the Washington, D.C. region, offering a welcoming environment where visitors of all ages can create at their own pace with guidance from staff.
When the expansion was first announced, ownership emphasized a desire to continue growing within Montgomery County, citing their long experience navigating local processes and their connection to the community. White Oak stood out as an ideal next location due to its proximity to Silver Spring and Washington, D.C., ongoing development, and accessibility to a different portion of the county than their existing customer base.
Once open, the new studio is expected to provide a convenient creative outlet for residents in East County while continuing to draw visitors from across the region. More updates, including an official opening date, are expected as construction progresses.
