An auction is now live for the contents of The Hunter’s Hound in Chevy Chase, which closed permanently on September 3, nearly five years after opening in December 2021.
The auction includes a wide range of items from the former restaurant, including tables, chairs, kitchen equipment, televisions, projectors and more. Bidding is currently open and is scheduled to begin closing on October 22, 2026 at 10:07am. Pickup will take place in Chevy Chase on October 26 from 9am-3pm.
The Hunter’s Hound was located at The Collection at Chevy Chase in Friendship Heights. As previously reported by The MoCoShow, two new restaurants from Metropolitan Hospitality Group (MHG) are expected to open at The Collection during the fourth quarter of 2026, marking the locally owned restaurant group’s first expansion into Maryland.
MHG will open Open Road at 5471 Wisconsin Avenue. The American restaurant and gathering place will feature a nautical twist at its Chevy Chase location. The group will also debut Cove, a new all-day cafe and wine bar. Open Road and Cove will replace the recently closed Junction Bistro, Bar, and Bakery and The Hunter’s Hound.
Founded in 2005, MHG opened its first restaurant, CIRCA at Dupont, in 2007. Its portfolio also includes Él Bebe, TRIO Grill, SALT, Heirloom and Open Road Distilling Co., with an existing presence in Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia.
