Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) were dispatched to a house fire in the 17000blk of Barn Ridge Dr in the Norbeck area (Silver Spring near Olney) at approximately 5pm Sunday evening.
According to Assistant Chief David Pazos, “Crews located a garage on fire and assisted 2 adults and 4 pets out of the home. Crews extinguished the fire and found all occupants uninjured.”
MCFRS Chief Spokesperon Pete Piringer stated at 6:14 that Route 28 is “closed Between Layhill Road and Wood Center Dr near ICC MD200, due to MCFRS activity on Barn Ridge Dr.” One family (two adults and four pets) has been displaced and MCFRS has requested the assistance of Red Cross.
