Back in October we let you know that Trader Joe’s is set to open at 225 N. Washington St. in Rockville Town Square taking over the former Dawson’s Market space, which closed last summer after twelve years. This morning, community member Michelle Maurer Chite informed us that signage was being installed and we stopped by for a photo.
The popular grocery chain is know for its “unique, affordable products, friendly atmosphere, and focus on organic and specialty items.” The new Rockville location has not yet had a confirmed opening date by the company itself, but an employee from the Darnestown Rd. location shared that mid-June may be a possibility.
Work is still in progress on the interior of the store. Trader Joe’s currently has additional Montgomery County locations in Bethesda, Rockville (one in Rockville and the Darnestown Rd. location referred to internally as the North Potomac store), and Silver Spring.
