In September 2023, we let you know of the planned Dunkin’ location at 17700 Muncaster Road, just off Muncaster Mill Road. The project has faced some delays, with the latest information indicating an ongoing effort to resolve traffic-related permitting issues, but construction continues to progress.
The new Dunkin’ is repurposing an existing commercial building that was previously a childcare facility. The project proposes a 2,500 SF restaurant featuring a drive-thru, a new shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists, and architectural enhancements to the building.
While a permit for the conversion was issued in August 2024, the project hit a slight snag in the approval process. Despite the setbacks, the project’s developers, Luis Group Management, a prominent local franchisee, remain committed to the new location. The project aims to improve the visual appearance of the property and enhance local circulation. The proposed improvements include a new 8-foot-wide shared-use path and a left-turn lane from Muncaster Road into the property to mitigate potential traffic congestion.
The opening timeline for the new Dunkin’ remains uncertain, but the project is moving forward with construction. We will let you know when an official opening timeline/date becomes available.
