A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison, with all but 40 years suspended, for his role in the murder of a Montgomery Village man during a robbery in Gaithersburg last year.
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, Jorden Hungerford was sentenced Friday by Circuit Court Judge Debra Dwyer. He will also serve five years of supervised probation upon release.
Following a ten-day trial in May, a jury found Hungerford guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The charges stem from the April 26, 2025, murder of 20-year-old Henry Krishawn Gilbert of Montgomery Village, who was found shot in the head inside a green Honda Civic on Brookridge Court in Montgomery Village. The vehicle had struck a curb and was still running when Gilbert was discovered.
Investigators determined that Hungerford posed as a female friend of Gilbert through social media messages, luring him to the location under the pretense of purchasing $70 worth of marijuana. Hungerford and co-defendant Demari Brown, 21, of Montgomery Village, then robbed Gilbert, with Brown firing the fatal shot.
