Detectives Continue to Investigate Armed Robbery in Silver Spring; Additional Victims a Concern

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from Montgomery County Department of Police – Silver Spring Investigative Section are investigating the November 3 armed robbery in the 8500 block of Georgia Avenue. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

On November 3, at approximately 9:30 p.m., 3rdDistrict officers responded to the 8500 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred. The investigation by detectives determined that two unknown males approached the victim from behind. One of the suspects placed a knife to the victims neck and began to rummage through her pockets, while the other male suspect began to demand property. The suspects stole property from the victim prior to fleeing the scene of the incident. Investigation revealed that the two male suspects accosted several other individuals prior to committing the robbery.

The suspects are described as a black male wearing a dark colored jacket and another, unknown race male wearing a light colored jacket.

Investigators are attempting to identify the suspects and are looking for any additional victims. Detectives are urging anyone who believes that they may have information regarding these suspects or this crime to contact the Silver Spring Investigative Section at 240-773-6870 or 240-773-TIPS.
