UPDATE: Amel Abdurezak has been located safe and unharmed.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Special Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing teenager from Silver Spring.
Amel Abdurezak, age 17, was last seen on January 29, 2022, at approximately 12 p.m., leaving her Treetop Lane apartment.
Abdurezak is approximately 5-feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown eyes, black hair and a pierced right nostril. She was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and a pair of black fury crocs.
Police and family are concerned for her welfare.
