68-Year-Old Man Arrested For Attempted Murder and Other Charges Related to Shooting Last Week in Rockville

On April 10, 2024, at 10:55 p.m. the Rockville City Police Department responded to a shooting in the 300 block of N. Washington St. RCPD officers located an adult, male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. The suspect, who fled the area on foot, has been arrested- Wesley Walker Jr., 68, of Rockville.

According to police, “the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released at the scene by Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel. The Rockville City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit immediately launched an investigation into the shooting.

During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Wesley Walker Jr., 68, of Rockville. On April 16, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. detectives arrested Walker in connection to the shooting. It was also learned that Walker is prohibited from possessing firearms. A search warrant was executed at Walker’s home and a Bersa Thunder .380 caliber handgun and ammunition were recovered.

Walker has been booked at the central processing unit on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Use of a Firearm in a Crime of Violence, Possession of a Loaded Handgun, Illegal Possession of a Regulated Firearm, and Illegal Possession of Ammunition.”
