District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos wrote “Don’t steal… especially while illegally possessing a handgun.” following the arrest of a suspect on Thursday.
Cokinos wrote, “Our [MCPD] downtown Silver Spring 3rd District officers take retail theft seriously.Today, our day shift officers quickly responded to a retail theft call and caught the suspect who not only stole, but was armed with a handgun.”
Our evening shift officers quickly responded to another retail theft call and found a suspect who was armed with a bunch of knives and weapons. Both received a trip to our central processing unit and were booked. Don’t victimize our businesses.”
