Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Jersi Eduardo Claros, 34, of no fixed address, for the attempted armed robbery of a juvenile victim.
According to police, “On August 13, at approximately 8:38 pm, Takoma Park Police officers were dispatched to the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue following a report of an attempted armed robbery. The incident involved a juvenile victim who was approached by a suspect, later identified as Claros, while sitting at a bus stop. Claros demanded money from the victim, and when the victim stated he had none, Claros made a gesture towards his waistband, suggesting he was armed. Claros then unsuccessfully attempted to solicit money from two other females present at the bus stop.
Through the course of the investigation, Claros was identified as the suspect and was subsequently located in the Walgreens parking lot on University Boulevard. He was taken into custody without incident.
Claros was arrested, charged accordingly and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.” Photo courtesy Google Maps
