It has been over two years since we let you know that True Food Kitchen would be taking the place of Joe’s Crab Shack in Rio.
Originally slated for a late 2020 opening, we spoke with a team member back in March who told us the restaurant would not open until 2022. Earlier today, Rio doubled down on the timeframe as they advertised a Spring 2022’arrival for the restaurant.
This past summer (late June 2021), the Rockville Department of Public Works presented a Draft Bike Lane Concept Plans for Maryland Avenue to Mayor and Council as part of the Rockville Bikeway Master Plan.
The Rockville Bikeway Master Plan, which was adopted by the mayor and city council in 2017, is a component of the city’s Comprehensive Plan and provides a vision for a safe and efficient multi-modal transportation system within Rockville.

Construction for Washingtonian Boulevard Bicycle Path (Within Rio) Expected to Start in 2023
The City of Gaithersburg is participating in the Montgomery County Dockless Vehicle-Sharing Demonstration Project.
The County program allows selected companies to deploy dockless e-scooters at no cost to the municipality, while users pay a rental fee for them.
Moorenko’s has announced that all of their stores, including both MoCo locations, will now be open for their regular hours.
Their stores had temporarily reduced hours of operation due to a staffing shortage, but announced that they are all now fully staffed.
Aerie, stylized as aerie, has opened in Montgomery Mall.
Aerie is an intimate apparel and lifestyle retailer and sub-brand owned by American Eagle Outfitters for girls and women. In addition to intimate apparel, the store offers activewear, leggings, swimsuits, and more.

Katie Ledecky, MoCo native and one of the greatest swimmers of all-time, has decided to move her home base from Stanford in California to Gainesville, Florida. Today she announced the move along with the Florida Gators announcing her joining the swim team as a volunteer coach. Ledecky has won 7 Olympic gold medals and 15 world championship gold medals, the most in history for a female swimmer. She is also the world record holder in the women’s 400-, 800-, and 1500-meter freestyle (long course), and holds the fastest-ever times in the women’s 500-, 1000-, 1500-, and 1650-yard freestyle events.
