Novavax Plans Major Expansion in Montgomery County, Commits to At Least 400 New Jobs
Novavax, which is headquartered in Gaithersburg and is a clinical stage vaccine company that is currently developing a COVID-19 vaccine, recently purchased additional land in MoCo and is planning to take 122,000-square-feet of space at 700 Quince Orchard Road.
MCPS Pre-K and Head Start Offices Accepting Donations of Winter Clothing for Low Income Students
Per MCPS: The Prekindergarten and Head Start offices are accepting donations of new coats for low income students. Hats, gloves and scarves are also needed. Coats for boys and girls in sizes 5, 6, 6x and 7 can be ordered online and delivered by mail/UPS to:

Today is the last day to vote early. As you can see, numbers have decreased, and wait times have been nearly non-existent in recent days. Head over to any of these locations today, the last day of early voting, to avoid Election Day crowds tomorrow (which should be much better than in the past).
Montgomery County Plans to Double the Number of Traffic Cameras by 2021
Love them or hate them, the number of speed and red light cameras in Montgomery County will double from its 2019 numbers by next year.
The new drive-thru Starbucks in the Kentlands was approved by the city of Gaithersburg back in 2018, wbut it took a little time for construction to get started.
If you frequent the area, you may have noticed things are moving fast. Signage is now up and the exterior is nearly complete.
From the Montgomery County Sentinel in 1876: “As the story goes, during the Civil War a soldier was decapitated by a saber in a skirmish around what is now Game Preserve Road. After the fight, his fellow soldiers hastily buried him in an unmarked grave, even though they couldn’t find his head to bury with his body.”
The story has been passed down for many generations and many have told tales about the supposed unmarked grave of the headless man. Some have recalled strange noises and apparitions with glowing eyes. Others have seen the figure of a headless soldier (sometimes on a horse and sometimes without it), while many have driven down the Gaithersburg road several times and have stated they’ve never noticed anything out of the ordinary.
