The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair has been cancelled.
The fair was supposed to run from August 14-22 this year.

Washington Sports Club, Planet Fitness, and LA Fitness have opened their doors under the guidelines established in Phase 2 of Montgomery County‘s reopening plan, which came into effect last Friday, June 19.
The Clarksburg Outlets are now open with temporarily reduced hours.
Signage at the outlets displays the new temporary hours:
El Aguila is opening a second location in the Colesville Center.
The restaurant currently has a location on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring and offers Salvadoran and Tex-Mex cuisine.
Three alumni of Springbrook High School (Khadijah Adamu, Sumaiya DeLane, and Samiza Palmer) have created an Anti-Racism Education Initiative. In this initiative, there are descriptions of specific actions that they would like to see the MCPS Board of Education commit to as well as a section for community members to sign their name as a show of support.
According to the document, the initiative includes 4 main requests:
Gumbo Ya Ya has closed permanently in Rockville Town Square.
The Puerto Rican/Cajun fusion restaurant moved to Rockville from its previous location in Germantown. It opened in November of 2019 and unfortunately wasn’t able to make it through the COVID pandemic after closing its doors in March.
A plan that will close Ellsworth Drive to cars and pave it with artificial turf was heard and approved by the MoCo planning board yesterday.
Guapo’s in Rio temporarily takes over some of the recently closed Union Jack’s to offer more patio seating.

After over 30 years Chuck E. Cheese has decided to close its Gaithersburg location. Earlier this year the Wall Street Journal reported that the company was $1 billion in debt, but the company has avoided filing for bankruptcy so far. We are told the Rockville and Takoma Park locations will remain open for carry-out and will be re-opening their arcades this coming Monday.
