Elmer Lopez-Cortez, 26, of Silver Spring, and Junior Del-Cid, 21, of Takoma Park, were each sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus three consecutive life sentences and 105 years, for the 2022 MS-13 gang-related murder of 19-year-old Willians Anderson Alberto Cruz and the attempted murder of three others in Montgomery County. A Maryland woman was sentenced to five years of probation after pleading guilty to Medicaid fraud for falsely claiming to be a registered nurse, fraudulently obtaining employment at Denton Nursing and Rehab, and causing Maryland Medicaid to pay $3,576.20 for unqualified nursing services. (more…)
