Rockville

The City of Rockville has announced that it earned a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s 13th annual Municipal Equality Index, reflecting its commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusivity through nondiscrimination laws, workplace policies, law enforcement, and community services.

Earlier today, we reported that the City of Gaithersburg had also received a 100 score on the 2024 Municipal Equality Index.


Maryland

On Thursday, Governor Wes Moore announced the launch of the Road to Careers grant program, a $24 million federal investment over six years to train workers for transportation and construction careers in Maryland, with a focus on apprenticeships and support services to reduce employment barriers.

Montgomery County has announced it will temporarily reopen the Wheaton Streetery on Price Avenue to vehicular traffic starting November 25 for winter maintenance, with plans to relaunch the space in late March as a seasonal community area supporting outdoor dining, sustainability, and local businesses.
