Governor Wes Moore has requested a Major Disaster Declaration from the White House to help Allegany and Garrett counties recover from mid-May flooding, which caused over $15.8 million in damage to homes, infrastructure, and public utilities, and could qualify the region for federal assistance and mitigation funding. MCDOT

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will implement phase one of its Ride On Reimagined plan on June 29, introducing new and adjusted bus routes and schedules, coordinated with Metrobus changes, to improve service reliability and coverage. The changes also include the introduction of a permanent zero-fare policy across all Ride On services to enhance access and eliminate fare collection costs.
