Per the State of Maryland:

ANNAPOLIS, MD—As the Omicron variant becomes more dominant and COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to rise across the state, Governor Larry Hogan today announced the commitment of $100 million in emergency funding to address urgent staffing needs at Maryland hospitals and nursing homes, as well as a series of actions to further ramp up the availability of COVID-19 testing across the state.


Chevy Chase

Irish-themed restaurant The Hunter’s Hound at 5471 Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase opened for business this past weekend.   The restaurant will be closed for the next week due to the holidays, according to a message on its website, and will reopen on December 28th.

“Dear Friends, We had a fabulous first weekend and we can’t thank you all enough for such a warm welcome! As we were delayed so much on the opening, our staff had made plans for Christmas and as a result we will be closed for the rest of the week. We will reopen for full business on Tuesday, December 28th at 4pm. From all of us, to all of you, have a great and safe holiday and we will see you next week.”


Bethesda

Update: Three Suspects Arrested and Charged in Bethesda Homicide

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged a 16-year-old male, a 17-year-old male and a 18-year-old male with the December 20 homicide that occurred in Bethesda


Rockville

Kuya Ja’s Lechon Belly at 5268-H Nicholson Lane in Rockville announced today that they will not be offering dine in until further notice. The message, posted on the restaurant’s social media accounts said it is being done as an effort to slow the spread of COVID and to keep their staff, costumers and community safe.

The restaurant is still offering take out and delivery through their website and through UberEats, DoorDash, and GrubHub.
