Clarksburg High School Graduate To Open Burger Joint Inside Frederick Brewery

by MCS Staff

2010 Clarksburg High School graduate Jon Thompson opened his food truck, Fifty Fifty, last year. He specializes in half-beef and half-bacon smash burgers, with the bacon ground right into the beef so they’re cohesive. Following the success of the food truck in the last year, Fifty Fifty will now open inside of Olde Mother Brewing Co. at 526 N Market St in Frederick. Construction just started on ithe kitchen inside of the brewery and they’re hoping to be open before the end of the year.

“We do double smash patties to get 4 layers of crispy seasoned bacon and beef with layered creamy cheese in ever bite. We focus on unique and creative toppings like roasted poblano cream cheese, spicy peanut butter or even authentic Belgian waffles as a bun for a one of a kind burger experience.” Thompson told us.

“We’ve been open as a food truck for a year and in our first 11 months we were ranked as a finalist for best food truck in Frederick, behind a truck that has been open for the better part of a decade. Our sides are also beyond the standard offerings with Old Bay fries with our Fifty Fifty sauce (a tangy chipotle mayo) and Sweet Potato Fries seasoned with cinnamon sugar and served with house made blueberry ketchup.”

Olde Mother Brewing Company has become a Frederick staple since opening seven years ago, consistently ranking as one of the top breweries in the area. They recently took home 3 gold medals at the MD state beer festival, including the gold medal for best overall beer.

Fifty Fifty and Olde Mother Brewing Co. just released a collaboration beer to celebrate the announcement:
