The Montgomery County Department of Police – Missing Person/Cold Case Unit continues to ask for the public’s assistance in locating Olawale Ogunbiyi, a 37-year-old male.  Ogunbiyi was last seen on Friday, November 3, 2023, in the 9700 block of Hedin Drive in Silver Spring. He is 5’9″, 179lbs, with black hair and brown. Ogunbiyi is known to frequent the White Oak and Hillandale area.  (more…)

The Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Valerie Castellanos Oliva, a missing 13-year-old from Gaithersburg. Oliva was last seen on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at approximately 2 p.m., in the 1200 block of Main Street in Gaithersburg. She is 5’2″, 145 Ibs., with brown hair and green eyes. (more…)

Per Montgomery County: “The 2023 Self-Sufficiency Standard (SSS) report released by Montgomery County’s Community Action Agency shows substantial increases in the cost of living, particularly in housing and childcare costs. The Self-Sufficiency Standard describes how much income families of various sizes and compositions need to earn to live without public or private assistance in specific geographic areas.

MCDOT

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has started lane painting to create dedicated bus lanes on University Boulevard (MD 193) between Amherst Avenue and Dennis Avenue. MCDOT expects to complete the project in early December. The dedicated bus lanes will provide faster Ride On and Metrobus service on this vital corridor, improving the connection between Four Corners and Metrorail at Wheaton Station.

Per Montgomery County: “A Stakeholders Forum, hosted by the Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services (DPS), will be held from 8:30 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the second-floor auditorium of the Wheaton headquarters of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). The forum is designed for architects, builders, contractors, designers, developers, engineers, land use attorneys, permit expediters and other professionals. The M-NCPPC building is located at 2425 Reedie Drive in Wheaton.
