Per Montgomery County: Montgomery County officials will host a second community information meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, in Rockville to provide additional details on plans to open a “Restoration Center” to help support residents in mental health and addiction crisis and reduce overburdening emergency rooms, hospitals and jail detention. The services are designed to assist individuals who are experiencing mental health, substance use disorder, and/or other types of behavioral health crisis. The in-person meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the third-floor hearing room of the County Council Office Building, which is located at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.
At the restoration center, a team of multidisciplinary professionals will include nurses, licensed mental health and addiction professionals, peer specialists and resource navigators. The center will provide a variety of behavioral health services including triage, crisis stabilization and warm hand-off referrals to appropriate services. The center will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
