The Montgomery County Planning Department respectfully disagrees with the county’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on their draft fiscal impact statement (FIS) on Thrive Montgomery 2050. Discussed at the September 27 Montgomery County Council Planning, Housing and Economic Development (PHED) Committee virtual meeting, the draft FIS was presented by county staff as required by county law.

97% of Eligible Residents in Montgomery County Have Received at Least One Vaccine Dose

According to CDC data, 97.1 of the population 12 years of age and older in Montgomery County, MD (865,866 residents) have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. 88.2% in that group have been fully vaccinated and 82.4% of the entire population of Montgomery County has received at lease one dose. Of the population 65 years and older, 99% have received at least one dose.

Hook & Reel will have its beer, wine, and liquor license hearing on Thursday, October 7th at 9:30am.

It has been nearly two years, December of 2019, since we let you know that the Cajun seafood restaurant and bar would be coming to MoCo with two new locations (Gaithersburg and Wheaton).

The wait is over, as the much anticipated opening of La Gula Mexicana is here. The restaurant is currently holding a soft opening, as they train new staff and work out a few kinks prior to fully opening.

La Gula Mexicana is owned and operated by the same people who have brought you Taco Bar El Guero (located in Gaithersburg near Rio) and Ixtapalapa on 355 in Gaithersburg.


Kensington

On Wednesday, September 29 at 7 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will host a virtual public hearing to discuss a proposed sidewalk on Decatur Avenue, just West of Connecticut Avenue, in Kensington.

At the virtual meeting, MCDOT will present the project scope, its conceptual design, costs, schedules and obtain public feedback.
