Crews continue the emergency water main repairs in Silver Spring. The damaged piece of 36-inch in diameter pipe has been cut and taken out to prepare for a new section of pipe. Historic Indigenous Recognition Event to Take Place in Montgomery County, Maryland

UPDATE: This closure has been delayed until August 30.
Beginning Monday, August 30, Westbound Randolph Road will be closed between Parklawn Drive and Nebel Street. The closure is expected to last approximately six months, meaning that section of Randolph Road likely won’t reopen until spring 2022.
The Indoor Aquatic Center will be closed for its annual cleaning & maintenance from Monday, August 9, through Monday, September 6, 2021. It will reopen for regular operations on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 5:15 p.m.

Beyond MoCo: DC’s New 771 Area Code Will Start Being Assigned in November
DC will soon run out of new telephone numbers to assign to their current area code of 202 and will start assigning a new area code come November. The North American Numbering Plan Administrator (NANPA) has chosen 771 as the new area code to the DC region. If you currently have a 202 area code number, that will not change.
