MCPS recently shared that five student teams from achieved national acclaim for their projects at this year’s National History Day competition. The annual event, held June 8-12 at the University of Maryland, College Park, brought together nearly 3,000 students from across the United States and abroad.

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire incident at approximately 7:15 p.m. at the end of Meeting House Road off Route 108 in Sandy Spring. The fire occurred at the historic Harewood Farmhouse.

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown’s Consumer Protection Division issued a Final Order requiring Optimum Construction, Optimum Interiors, and their owner Amr “Omar” Elrahimy to pay over $4.4 million in restitution and penalties for failing to complete home improvement projects after collecting payments from Maryland consumers.
