If you’ve ever dropped your car at the dealership and then spent the next week calling for updates, you’re not alone. A lot of Montgomery County drivers are looking for a simpler option.
AMPM Automotive in Rockville has been taking care of local cars since 2010 and is still family owned. That means you’re dealing with the same faces every visit, not a rotating staff. They’re also CARFAX Top-Rated with a 4.7-star rating and more than 570 Google reviews.
Most of the auto repair work they do — maintenance, brakes, diagnostics, alignments — is finished the same day. Instead of playing phone tag, they send text and photo updates so you can see what’s going on before you say yes.
They stand behind the work with a 24-month, 24,000-mile nationwide warranty on parts and labor. If your car isn’t running, they can pick it up and tow it to the shop. Towing is free within 10 miles when AMPM does the repair.
They also run a multipoint inspection on every vehicle that comes in so you can catch small issues early. Maryland State Inspections are available too.
Every customer is automatically enrolled in their rewards program. You earn rewards on the services you have done and can use that balance toward future work.
They also give every customer a digital glove box — an online page for each vehicle where you can see your full service history, any work that was recommended but not done yet, and what’s coming due next. It’s handy before a road trip or when you’re deciding whether to fix something or sell the car.
The waiting area is clean and comfortable, with free Wi-Fi, coffee, and snacks. They also offer a military discount. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 to 5.
You’ll find AMPM Automotive at 11800 Coakley Circle in Rockville for auto repair. Call 301-822-4694 or book online if you want to skip the dealership wait.

When I moved back to the D.C. area after several years in New York, I found myself rebuilding a social circle. Friends had moved away or settled into different routines, and finding a few guys to hang out with took more effort than I remembered.
That experience led me to start Choros. We first launched in DC about a year ago, bringing small groups of guys together around shared interests. The enthusiasm convinced me there were plenty of other men looking for the same thing: good company, reliable plans, and people they could keep getting to know.
