Right Lane On Small Section of Southbound 355 to Be Closed On Weekdays From 9am-3pm for Approximately One Month

The right lane of southbound 355, starting 335 feet south of Marinelli Rd. until 500 feet north of Marinelli Rd on Rockville Pike will be closed beginning Wednesday, June 23 from 9am until 3pm on weekdays for a gas main replacement. The temporary closure is expected to be completed no later than July 29th. A letter, seen below, was sent by Washington Gas to the community regarding the repairs and lane closure.

Beginning, Wednesday June 23rd at 9 a.m., NPL Company will perform a replacement project operation to replace approximately 835′ of gas main at the intersection of Rockville Pike and Marinelli Rd.

The scope of work will expand approximately 335′ South of Marinelli Rd. to 500″ North of Marinelli Rd. on Rockville Pike. All work is scheduled to be completed no later than July 29’*, 2022.

To complete this work, crews are permitted to close the right southbound lane of MD 355 within the project limits, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. NPL Company will direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic through the work zone during all work hours ( all business access will remain open ).

NPL Construction and Washington Gas will have continual communication with all businesses in the scope of work to ensure that normal business will not be affected and all work pertaining to individual business gas service will be at minimum.
