Former NBA All-Star Buck Williams and his wife, Mimi, are downsizing from their six-bedroom, nine-bathroom Georgian mansion in Potomac and have listed many items in an estate sale.

Williams, a North Carolina native, attended and played for the University of Maryland from 1978-1981. At Maryland, he earned All-ACC honors in 1980 and 1981.

The “6th Fear Haunted Trail” will be open to the public this Sunday, 10/31, from 7-9:00 pm (Friday has been cancelled due to the weather). It was thought up and built by Trent, a freshman at Quince Orchard HS, and he and his friends will be working the trail.


The Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) new retail concept and flagship store, Oak Barrel & Vine, is having their grand opening this Wednesday, October 27.

The county-run beer, wine, and liquor store will feature a tasting room with beers on tap and space to hold events hosted by local breweries and distillers.


MINISO, a Japanese themed novelty store, has opened on the first floor of Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) next to Macy’s.

Drivers are being advised to avoid areas surrounding the Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda due to the ongoing bomb threat / shelter in place.

According to MCPD, all NSA Bethesda gates are closed and severe backups are possible on Rockville Pike (MD 355) at Cedar Lane, MD 355 at Jones Bridge Road, & Connecticut Ave (MD 185) near I-495.


NSA Bethesda Update: At this time, there is no indication of an active shooter on the installation. A bomb threat is still under investigation. A lockdown remains in place.

Naval Support Activity Bethesda reports that Walter Read Medical Center in Bethesda is currently on lockdown due to a bomb threat / active shooter investigation. All personnel are being told to shelter in place. Walter Reed is advising all personnel to stay clear from the medical center.
