Karena Wilson went to work at Chick Fil A in Germantown today, on Christmas Eve, just five days after her 33 year old son, Lawrence Richard Wilson, Jr., was killed by three teenagers in Bethesda on Sunday night. Karena needs the money to pay for her son’s funeral, she told us.

A GoFundMe has been started by Karena’s sister in an attempt to raise $3,000 to help Karena pay for her son’s funeral.


MoneyWise conducted research based on a list created by Forbes that put together a combined list of the “richest and poorest cities in each state.” The list made by Forbes uses data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2019 American Community Survey five-year estimates.

Montgomery County’s Brookmont community was listed as “the richest” area in the state of Maryland. Brookmont is a census-designated place and an unincorporated area in Montgomery County. It is often considered part of neighboring Bethesda because it falls within Bethesda’s 20816 zip code. Previously, in the 1980 and 1990 census, Brookmont was joined with Cabin John as “Cabin John-Brookmont”, but the census area disbanded to form Cabin John and Brookmont as separate areas in 2000.

Irish-themed restaurant The Hunter’s Hound at 5471 Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase opened for business this past weekend.   The restaurant will be closed for the next week due to the holidays, according to a message on its website, and will reopen on December 28th.

“Dear Friends, We had a fabulous first weekend and we can’t thank you all enough for such a warm welcome! As we were delayed so much on the opening, our staff had made plans for Christmas and as a result we will be closed for the rest of the week. We will reopen for full business on Tuesday, December 28th at 4pm. From all of us, to all of you, have a great and safe holiday and we will see you next week.”


Update: Three Suspects Arrested and Charged in Bethesda Homicide

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged a 16-year-old male, a 17-year-old male and a 18-year-old male with the December 20 homicide that occurred in Bethesda

BusyBees Chevy Chase will be closing its doors permanently on January 1st, 2022, according to an email sent out to customers this evening.

The children’s play space opened in Chevy Chase back in 2017 after opening in Falls Church in 2015,  but states that staff shortages have made their brand unreliable. BusyBees previously closed it’s Fairfax Corner location.
