The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has shared they are continuing to investigate the 1976 murders of the Bishop family in Potomac, MD. “People Magazine Investigates” which can be seen on MAX, reports on the case in an episode of Season 8 titled “My Father was a Mass Murderer”.
While there are many establishments that offer great wings in the area, Eater DC recently created a list of “Where to Find Fabulous Wings Around D.C.” and two Maryland restaurants are included (one in Prince George’s County and one in Montgomery County).
Griffis Residential last month announced its expansion to the East Coast with the acquisition of Maizon, a 229-unit multifamily property in Bethesda, Maryland, now rebranded as Griffis Edgemoor. Now we know the property was sold for $115,250,000, per BLDUP.
“Beverly Hills, 90210” was a wildly popular television series that debuted in 1990, influencing pop culture by portraying the lives of affluent teenagers in Southern California, tackling issues such as relationships, identity, and social challenges. The show was created by Montgomery County native Darren Star and it was almost called Potomac 20854.

Today, President Biden named nineteen recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom– including two from Maryland. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors.
The Montgomery County Volunteer Center is inviting residents to participate in MLK Day of Service events on January 18 and 19, featuring service projects at local recreation centers and a volunteer fair at the Bethesda North Marriott, aimed at supporting community members in need. (more…)

Mykonos, a Rockville staple for decades, will be opening a new restaurant in Potomac’s Cabin John Village. The restaurant will be taking over the space that was occupied by Broadway Pizza until the end of 2021 and though an opening timeframe is not yet available, we now expect it to be in the coming months.

Duke’s Grocery, a DC-based, East London-inspired gastropub, will be opening in quarter 1 of 2025, according to an Instagram post by the company. The Instagram post also provided a first look at the interior of the restaurant (video below).
