The Montgomery Parks Foundation is raising funds to help rebuild the large playground at Greenbriar Local Park (12525 Glen Road). The large playground remains closed indefinitely due to the damage it sustained in the fire. The small playground area and the rest of the park remain open (video below).
Montgomery County Police have released surveillance images of a suspect wanted in connection to an assault and theft that occurred in March.
The Montgomery County Department of Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Grady Simmons, who is a suspect in 37 thefts occurring in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase between August 2023 and April 2024.

Montgomery County Police have announced that a 15-year-old Montgomery County Public Schools student has been charged with threats of mass violence and disrupting school operations following a June 7 bomb threat.
Disturbing details were revealed in the statement of charges for Emanuel Sewell, who is being charged with the murder of Maryland Parole and Probation agent Davis Martinez in Chevy Chase on May 31st.
As of Monday, June 10, a $1,000,000 winning Mega Millions lottery ticket sold on June 1 at the Aspen Hill Citgo (13615 Georgia Ave) remains unclaimed.
