Slutty Vegan is officially coming to Washington DC. Founder and restaurateur Pinky Cole announced on social media that a franchise agreement has been signed for a Slutty Vegan location in the District. The restaurant opened its first Maryland location in Baltimore in December 2024.

The Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP) will offer its 2025 Holiday SoberRide program from December 19 through January 1, providing adults in the Washington-metropolitan area with free Lyft rides home (up to $15) between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. to help prevent impaired driving during a high-risk period for alcohol-related crashes.

The Cheesecake Factory at 5335 Wisconsin Avenue NW in Washington DC’s Friendship Heights neighborhood has announced that it will permanently close next month. According to Fox 5’s Allison Papson, the company stated that after extensive review it made the decision to discontinue operations at the Chevy Chase location, with the final day of service set for January 24, 2026.

A Washington, D.C. man won a $50,000 prize from the Maryland Lottery’s Holiday Raffle after buying his ticket at the 7-Eleven on Gaither Road in Rockville.
