Metro has announced an agreement with Potbelly Sandwich Shop to lease about 2,300 square feet of prime retail space on the ground floor of Metro’s L’Enfant Plaza headquarters, 300 Seventh St. SW. According to Metro, “The opening, expected this fall, will add to the area’s revitalization, by creating a more active street with vibrant storefront restaurants and retail stores.”


Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats, the beloved woman-owned DC-based bakery from two-time Cupcake Wars champion, Doron Petersan, will host a Grand Opening Celebration, as well as a ribbon and cake cutting, at its new Flagship Bakery on Saturday, February 24th at 10 AM.

The following is an official statement by Loudoun County Fire & Rescue on the home explosion that was heard across various parts of the DMV last night. “At approximately 7:38 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024, the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting an odor of gas outside of a residence in the 300 block of Silver Ridge Drive in Sterling.

A police chase in that began in Beltsville, MD in Prince George’s County and involved a stolen roadside assistance truck, ended in the area of Burnt Mills Park in White Oak on Friday evening when the driver was taken into custody.

On Monday, Governor Wes Moore visited Cambridge, MD to discuss impact the ENOUGH Act (Engaging Neighborhoods, Organizations, Unions, Governments, and Households) will have on rural communities in Maryland.  The ENOUGH Act was introduced last month by Moore and focuses on ending concentrated poverty across the state.
