For nearly a century, Thrasher’s French Fries in Ocean City has reigned as the undisputed king of fries in Maryland. In 2023, New York’s famous H&H Bagels entered a new era of expansion, with agreements in place for 25 new restaurants, including 10 units in the DC area. Now, the first DC location will open at 601 K Street, NW on Thursday, June 12th– about 6.5 miles away from the Maryland line.

Maryland is home to a single Cook Out location, located at 1115 S Salisbury Blvd in Salisbury, MD. This standout fast-food destination draws visitors from near and far. On our way from Rockville to the beach in Ocean City, we stopped by for a snack. Our drive took approximately 2.5 hours, departing Rockville at 10:00am on a Monday and arriving by 12:30pm (photos below).

Montgomery County has awarded a $9,016 MOVE grant to IT consulting firm Powersolv to support its relocation from Reston, Virginia, to Rockville, where the company plans to expand operations and add new jobs as part of the County’s ongoing efforts to attract and retain technology businesses.

Cycling enthusiasts in Washington DC and Montgomery County area have been embarking on a long-distance ride that stretches all the way to Pittsburgh. By connecting two distinguished trails– the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal Towpath and the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP)– cyclists can experience a continuous, car-free route spanning approximately 334.5 miles without ever needing to ride on a road.


Bret Michaels, the frontman of the rock band Poison, spent his Saturday night partying in Ocean City, MD. Michaels, who has sold over 65 million albums worldwide and is known for hits such as “Talk Dirty to Me,” “Something to Believe In,” “Nothing But a Good Time,” and the number-one ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” was in town to support a local charity and ended up hanging out much longer than expected.
