The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is urging residents to plan ahead and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or cannabis during the holiday season. According to District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos, a community member in downtown Silver Spring spotted a suspect breaking into cars around 3 AM and called 911, enabling MCPD 3rd District officers to swiftly apprehend the individual. Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in December. The suspect is 20-year-old Jaiden Thomas of Silver Spring. He is charged with fatally shooting 18-year-old Rasheed Davis of Germantown, MD.
