Montgomery County Police received a call at approximately 10:57 pm and responded to a shooting on the 14300 block of Fairdale Rd. in on Monday night. According to police, 3rd District officers arrived on the scene to find one victim who was shot. One suspect is currently in custody with more information to be released by police as it becomes available.


Per the Rockville City Police Department: “On October 22, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Rockville City Police Officers responded to the 200 block Elizabeth Avenue for a residential robbery. The victim reported that he was accosted at his front door by two masked men armed with handguns. The men fled from the location after police were alerted to the incident in a silver Dodge Charger.

Officers observed the suspect vehicle in the area while responding to the call and pursued it. However, the suspect vehicle became disabled in the area of E. Argyle Street and W. Lynfield Drive. Police established a perimeter, and the driver was apprehended near the 600 block of Harrington Road; two handguns were recovered. The passenger remains outstanding.


According to Montgomery County Police, a 17-year-old Walter Johnson High School student has been arrested and charged as an adult for possession of a firearm. The student, who is a Bethesda resident, was arrested after a witness reported to school security that the student had a gun.  Montgomery County Public Schools security team members located the student, conducted a search and located a loaded 9 mm handgun.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., on Monday, October 23, 2023, Montgomery County Department of Police Community Engagement Officers were dispatched to the school, located in the 6400 block of Rock Spring Drive.  Based on the information provided and evidence of the gun, officers arrested the student.


Police responded to a home invasion robbery on Sunday, October 22 in Rockville. According to MCPD, “At approximately 4:30 p.m., Rockville City Police and Montgomery County Police officers responded to the 200 block of Elizabeth Ave. in Rockville for the report of a home invasion robbery that just occurred.

 The preliminary investigation has revealed that an adult male victim was approached by two armed suspects at his home. The suspects entered the home and then left the scene in a vehicle. One suspect has been taken into custody. Officers are still looking for the other suspect.  The victim was not injured. This is still an active and ongoing investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.”


U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested two fleeing Maryland rape suspects at Washington Dulles International Airport late Thursday and early Friday. Each suspect is wanted on a separate felony rape charge– one in Montgomery County and one in Prince George’s County.

According to CBP, “Officers first arrested Oscar Armando Hernandez Mata, a 53-year-old Salvadoran, on a Montgomery County, Maryland, warrant for felony second degree rape and sexual abuse of a minor. Hernandez Mata is an alien unlawfully present in the U.S. after being ordered removed by an immigration judge in 2006. CBP’s National Targeting Center alerted Dulles officers of Hernandez Mata’s impending departure flight to El Salvador. Dulles CBP officers apprehended Hernandez Mata at 4:48 p.m., Thursday at the departure gate.


Per MCPD: “Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a commercial burglary that occurred at the Speedy Laundromat in the 12500 block of Layhill Road in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance photos of one of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

The investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 3:50 a.m.,on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, a suspect forced entry into the laundromat by shattering the glass front door, stole an undisclosed amount of money and left the store. At approximately 4:40 a.m., a second suspect entered the business through the broken front door, stole the cash register containing an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene.


Governor Wes Moore today released the following statement regarding the killing of Judge Andrew Wilkinson:

“I am shocked, heartbroken, and sickened by the killing of Judge Andrew Wilkinson. He was the victim of a cold-blooded, vicious, and targeted attack. My heart goes out to Judge Wilkinson’s family, and my prayers are with everyone who knew him, loved him, and served alongside him.


The investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 6:40 a.m., on Thursday, September 28, 2023, the suspect attempted to force entry into the victim’s residence by breaking a basement window. Detectives reviewed video surveillance and obtained a description of the suspect. The suspect is seen wearing items taken from a theft from auto incident that occurred earlier in the same block. The suspect is described as a Black teenage male, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, white ski mask and black gloves. He is carrying a flashlight and a black Northface backpack that was stolen from a theft from auto that occurred earlier.


Per the Washington County Sheriff’s Department: “The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a homicide investigation. On October 19, 2023, at approximately 8:00 PM, Deputies responded to the 19100 block of Olde Waterford Road, Hagerstown, MD, for a reported shooting. The victim, an adult male, was located in the driveway of a residence. The victim was suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was transported to Meritus Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as Washington County, Maryland Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson, 52, of Hagerstown.

Update: The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the below-listed individual in connection to the Olde Waterford Road homicide investigation. Anyone with information on the location of Pedro Argote, 49, is asked to notify law enforcement immediately. Argote is 5’7”, 130 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He may be operating a silver 2009 Mercedes GL450, displaying Maryland registration plates 4EH0408. Anyone with information in reference to Argote’s location is asked to not approach him but to immediately notify law enforcement. This continues to be an active investigation, certain details of the case will not be released to the public by law enforcement. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. The press conference will be at 100 West Washington Street Hagerstown, MD, 21740, at the Washington County Government Administration Building.”


Per MCPD: “Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District Investigative Section are investigating a residential burglary and an attempted residential burglary that occurred on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

At approximately 6:09 a.m., 6th District officers responded to the 8100 block of Irwell Court in Gaithersburg for the report of a residential burglary that just occurred.  The investigation has revealed that, at approximately 5:54 a.m., the suspect forced entry into the rear sliding door of the home, stole property and left the scene. The victim was in the residence during the time of the burglary.  At approximately 2:13 p.m., 6th District officers responded to a home in the 17400 block of Tauton Drive in Gaithersburg for the report of an attempted residential burglary.  Investigators determined that at approximately 5:47 a.m., the suspect approached the front door of the home, then jumped over the fence, attempted to force entry into the rear sliding door and left the scene.


An attempted carjacking took place on Wednesday, October 18, at 11:18 pm, on the 7100 block of Holly Avenue in Takoma Park, police say.

According to Takoma Park Police: “5-7 juvenile males approached the victim, who had just gotten out their vehicle. One male, described as a young-looking black male, wearing a red scarf over his face, pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded the victim’s car keys and cell phone. The victim complied and then ran inside to safety and called the police.
