This morning, Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) 3D officers were dispatched to the intersection of Lockwood Drive and New Hampshire Avenue In White Oak following reports of a shooting. The call came in at 9:47 am.
On Saturday night, Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officers from the 5th District responded to a shooting incident in Germantown. The call came in at 8:04 p.m., reporting gunfire in the vicinity of Beehive Lane and Brandermill Drive.

Michael C. Okolo, 68, of Parkville, MD has been charged for a fourth time, this time with obstruction of justice and fabricating evidence, in connection with an ongoing insurance fraud case in Baltimore County, with previous charges including theft, fraud, and acting as an unlicensed insurance agent.
The Montgomery County Police Department is marking the 50th anniversary of the unsolved 1975 murder of 15-year-old Kathy Beatty, who was found unconscious and sexually assaulted in a wooded area behind the former K-Mart in Aspen Hill, later dying from her injuries.

A Montgomery County jury found 77-year-old Patrick Estrella of Clarksburg guilty on two counts of sex abuse of a minor and two counts of third-degree sex offense for sexually assaulting two girls, eight and nine years old, with sentencing set for October and a potential sentence of up to 70 years in prison. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) reports that during the ninth week of its Summer Traffic Task Force, officers conducted 107 traffic stops resulting in 17 DUI arrests and issued over 300 citations and warnings, with cumulative totals since the initiative began reaching 127 DUI arrests and more than 2,400 total enforcement actions. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating an attempted strong-arm carjacking of a rideshare driver on May 24 in the 8800 block of Rockville Pike in Bethesda and has released surveillance photos of three suspects, asking for the public’s help in identifying them. (more…)
