On Monday night, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a stabbing incident in Clarksburg. At approximately 8:50pm, officers from the 5th District, alongside Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) were dispatched to the 22000 Block of Clarksburg Road following reports of a stabbing.
The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday, August 11, 2025 near Tanglewood Park in Fairland. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying any possible suspects. (more…)

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has released additional information about a fatal shooting in the 700 block of University Boulevard East in Silver Spring on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, that left 17-year-old Jaril Verde Murillo dead. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has arrested 35-year-old Joseph Gordon in connection with a July 28 shooting in the 11400 block Lockwood Drive in White Oak that injured a 40-year-old man. Gordon is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and multiple handgun-related offenses and is being held without bond.
