The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) reports that during the ninth week of its Summer Traffic Task Force, officers conducted 107 traffic stops resulting in 17 DUI arrests and issued over 300 citations and warnings, with cumulative totals since the initiative began reaching 127 DUI arrests and more than 2,400 total enforcement actions. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating an attempted strong-arm carjacking of a rideshare driver on May 24 in the 8800 block of Rockville Pike in Bethesda and has released surveillance photos of three suspects, asking for the public’s help in identifying them. (more…)


Eduardo Valdivia, a federal agent, has been convicted on six counts of second-degree rape and two counts of fourth-degree sexual offense by a jury, according to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney Office. The jury reached its decision after deliberating for just over three hours. Valdivia’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 14 at 1:30 pm.

Montgomery County Police have arrested 44-year-old Nicholas Lloyd of Germantown for allegedly shooting three people during an ongoing dispute outside his home on Shadyside Way on July 16, 2025. He faces multiple attempted murder and assault charges and is being held without bond.

On July 15, 2025, a Frederick County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Baltimore man during a traffic stop on Route 340 after a K9 unit detected narcotics and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 385 grams of suspected cocaine.

A 24-year-old from Brooklyn, NY was sentenced in Montgomery County Circuit Court to 10 years in prison, with all but 26 months suspended, for involvement in a theft scheme targeting elderly victims in Bethesda, after pleading guilty to conspiracy and attempted theft charges.
