Raphael Mayorga, 21, of Frederick was sentenced to 22 years and 60 days in prison, the maximum allowed by law, in Montgomery County Circuit Court, for a crash that resulted in Montgomery County Police Sergeant Pat Kepp losing both of his legs. Judge Harry Storm departed from the Maryland Sentencing Guidelines, citing the excessive harm caused, the victim being a police officer who had previously warned Mayorga, the State’s recommendation, and the heinous nature of the conduct. U.S. District Court Judge Theodore D. Chuang sentenced Dr. Anissa Maroof, 48, of Potomac, Maryland, to 15 months in federal prison and two years of supervised release for illegally distributing and dispensing controlled substances through her Bethesda medical practice between 2019 and 2022. (more…)
On August 25, at approximately 4:10 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the parking lot in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue following a report of an armed robbery.

On Monday night, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a stabbing incident in Clarksburg. At approximately 8:50pm, officers from the 5th District, alongside Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) were dispatched to the 22000 Block of Clarksburg Road following reports of a stabbing.
