Veteran Washington sports reporter Rick Snider passed away on Tuesday after suffering a stroke on August 11. Known for his extensive coverage of Washington DC sports teams, particularly the Washington Commanders (formerly the Washington Redskins), Snider was a longtime journalist who had been writing sports columns even in his final days.

The Washington Commanders have locked up their premier offensive weapon, reaching an agreement on a three-year contract extension with star wide receiver Terry McLaurin. In a significant move ahead of the 2025 NFL season, the San Francisco 49ers have reached an agreement to trade a 2026 6th round pick for Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. The trade, pending a physical, was reported by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who stated on social media that Robinson will join the 49ers’ backfield, adding “added punch” to their run-heavy offense.
