March is Adopt a Guinea Pig month at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center, located at 7315 Muncaster Mill Rd in Derwood.

A car was driven into the 7-Eleven at 17701 Muncaster Mill Rd in Derwood this morning around 10am.
No injuries were reported, according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer. A building inspector has been requested.
Back in April we let you know that Feasty Crab would be taking over the old Red, Hot, & Blue location at 16811 Crabbs Branch Way in Derwood/Redland/Rockville.
We spoke with a representative at the restaurant back in October who told us that it would be open “in about a month” pending inspections. Things have taken a little longer than expected, but only the final inspection is left and the restaurant hopes to open this month.
Golden Bakery, a Persian and middle eastern bread factory and bakery, will hold its grand opening at 15841 Redland Road in Derwood on February 6th from 2pm-5pm.
The bakery specializes in Persian breads, and touts its experience in making “the finest Taftoon and Sangak bread.” In addition to the bread factory and bakery, Golden Bakery plans to also have a middle eastern grocery section.
Earlier this week, National Convenience Distributors, LLC announced the acquisition of Century Distributors Inc., one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s largest full-line wholesale distributors to the convenience and grocery store industries. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Century Distributors, founded in 1976 and located in Rockville, Maryland, will join NCD as a newly created division. Currently, National Convenience Distributors is the 4th largest wholesale convenience distributor in the U.S., servicing 12 states along the I-95 corridor, with annual revenues in excess of $3 billion.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have identified the remains of an adult male as Daniel Daipong Wang, age 78 of Derwood. Wang was reported missing on October 31, 2021.
