Back in January 2024 we let you know that Eggspectation, a restaurant that serves “elevated American cuisine with a lengthy all-day breakfast menu alongside hearty lunch and dinner fare”, is returning to Montgomery County with its upcoming Burtonsville location (15763 Old Columbia Pike). The restaurant is now set to open soon with almost all interior construction complete (photo below).

Phowheels is now open at 15707 Old Columbia Pike in the Burtonsville Crossing shopping center (currently in a soft opening phase until Friday, April 18th). It’s the DMV and Maryland’s first drive-thru Vietnamese restaurant, though indoor seating is also available. Our very own Mr. MoCo stopped by to give you a first look at the restaurant (video below).
Tuan Vo is the proud owner of Phowheels, a unique Vietnamese culinary venture. Raised in Montgomery County, he attended White Oak Middle School and Springbrook High School, and currently resides in Burtonsville. Phowheels has announced that the DMV’s first drive-thru Vietnamese restaurant will open at Burtonsville Crossing on Friday, April 18th (it will also feature the option to dine-in).
Montgomery County high school students preparing to go to prom this year are invited to attend Montgomery County Recreation’s Prom Couture Closet giveaway event at Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center in Burtonsville on Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Harrison Robbs, second grader at Burtonsville Elementary School, has achieved recognition for his exceptional academic performance by receiving the Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) Outstanding Student Accomplishment in Gifted & Talented Education award for Primary Grades K-2.
On Wednesday, March 26, Jersey Mike’s Subs will donate 100% of its sales—expected to exceed $25 million—to over 200 local charities as part of its 15th Annual Day of Giving. This event, the culmination of the Month of Giving campaign, has helped Jersey Mike’s raise more than $113 million for charities since 2011. Jersey Mike’s has nine locations in Montgomery County. A Burtonsville woman, dubbed “Lucky Lady,” claimed a $50,000 Powerball prize on St. Patrick’s Day, after realizing she had won from the October 2024 drawing. Last January we let you know that Chipotle signed on as a tenant at the renovated Burtonsville Crossing shopping center. The restaurant will be opening at 10:45am on Friday, March 14th at 15701 Old Columbia Pike in the Burtonsville Crossing shopping center.
