‘Khana a Claypot Grille’ closed permanently at the end of September after approximately ten years at 15616 Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville. Its replacement did not take long to sign on at the once again fully leased Burtonsville Town Square shopping center with Quickway signing a lease to open a new restaurant.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has arrested 35-year-old Dori Campbell of Silver Spring on charges, including negligent manslaughter and driving under the influence, following a September 8 collision that killed 39-year-old WSSC employee Ernest Dyson while he was working near New Hampshire Avenue and Rodney Road. Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for the 4th consecutive rating period from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety.
Sarah Katherine Magid, a first-grade teacher from Burtonsville, has been charged with distributing fentanyl that led to a victim’s death. Evidence includes text messages between Magid and the victim and reports of drug sales during school hours, with potential sentencing ranging from 20 years to life if convicted.
