It will be taking over a corner space with a large outdoor patio, across from the future grocery store anchor that remains to be determined (but appears to be Amazon Fresh again).
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a crash involving a Ride On bus shortly after 8pm on Monday night. The crash occurred near the intersection of Lockwood Dr. and July Dr. in White Oak.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a precautionary second alarm fire on Broadbirch Dr. and Longfield Dr. (new address) in Calverton, near White Oak, for four separate fires on the roof of a residential high rise that’s under construction.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 22-year-old Trevon Hatcherson-Ross with the shooting death of 19-year-old Justice T’Ziyan Elliott that occurred on a Metro Bus on Friday, February 17, 2023, on Lockwood Drive in White Oak.
Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a commercial burglary that occurred on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in the 15600 block of Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville.
A $475,000 permit has been issued for the interior construction of the upcoming Starbucks at White Oak Town Center (12345 Columbia Pike). Construction should begin soon and stores in the shopping center could begin opening by the end of the summer.

Jackson Road Elementary School in White Oak became the first school in Maryland to pilot The Greater Washington Community Foundation’s Brilliant Futures program. Brilliant Futures is a children’s savings pilot program that will provide kindergarten students with up to $1,000 each year from kindergarten through 12th grade.
