Dunkin’ today announced that it is celebrating the grand opening of its first Next Generation store in Burtonsville at 15640 Old Columbia Pike on Saturday, December 4. From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on December 4, the store will reward the first 100 customers with Free Coffee for a Year!

This morning we were told by a reliable source that Chipotle would be moving in to the recently closed Little Caesars location in the Briggs Chaney MarketPlace shopping center.
Little Caesars closed the Briggs Location early this past summer and many local residents have wondered what would be taking its place. We are told the location would be a walk-up/drive-thru only Chipotle, which isn’t common in the area.
In 2020, a number of Burtonsville residents realized many underprivileged children in the community would not experience the same holiday experience many local children have due to the struggles many had during the pandemic.
A number of Burtonsville residents decided to do something about it– they organized a group of volunteers to collect toys for children in need.

There will be a floating pumpkin patch event this Saturday at the Martin Luther King, Jr Indoor Swim Center at 1201 Jackson Rd in Colesville. Tickets can be purchased here.
Per Montgomery Rec:
Seibel’s in Burtonsville, which has been serving the community for over 82 years, has announced that it will be closing its doors on Sunday, November 28th.
The announcement was made in a letter to customers by the family who has owned and operated the restaurant since the 60s.
2/2/22 Update: Construction is set to begin
Giant Food has signed on to open at the Orchard Center on Cherry Hill Rd in Calverton, according to a report from the Washington Business Journal. Per the report, the Landover-based grocery chain has signed a lease for the roughly 64,626-square-foot ShopRite space at 12028 Cherry Hill Rd. ShopRite closed back in February of 2020 year and Aldi opened in the shopping center later that year in October.

MCPS is working with several community organizations to host a Say Yes to the Test Day information fair and event at Paint Branch High School from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9.
