The Montgomery County Council Audit Committee will meet on Friday, Sept. 26, to review an Office of Inspector General report on the Montgomery County Public Schools Background Screening Office. The committee will also receive an update from MCPS on its action plan to improve background check procedures for employees, contractors, and volunteers. (more…)

MCPS recently shared on social media that Richard Montgomery High School graduate Liliana Katz-Hollander, a member of the Class of 2025 and a recent Montgomery County Women Making History honoree, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship. The honor comes with a $40,000 award, distributed as $10,000 annually over four years to support her college education.
On September 23, a group of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Pupil Personnel Workers and Community School Liaisons volunteered at Comfort Cases’ national headquarters in Gaithersburg to assemble care packages for children in foster care. (more…)
