With the U.S. ranking third out of 132 countries in the latest Global Innovation Index, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2024’s Most & Least Innovative States, with Maryland coming in as the 6th most innovative state in the country.

After a competitive national search, American University named Jonathan (Jon) Alger as the institution’s 16th president. Alger comes to AU after 12 years as president of James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Alger will join AU on July 1, 2024, when current President Sylvia Burwell concludes seven changemaking years leading the institution to extensive impact.
